I foolishly thought that October would be a somewhat slow month for me in terms of games I want to purchase and play, so I could finish up my other games from this year before November hit. I was so very, very wrong.
It started last week with the release of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I had never heard of this game before the reviews flooded in, and every single one of them was super positive. That alone isn’t enough to get me intrigued, but the premise of being forced to help someone escape (hence the title) drew me in instantly. It’s original, the story is based off of the Chinese Legend of Son Goku, and the graphics look amazing. I was instantly sold, and I picked up both the guide and game last week.
So sorry, Red Dead Redemption and Transformers: War for Cybertron, but you’ve been shelved for the time being.
Of course, that isn’t enough for me to stay distracted with one game. Oh no, I have to find out that Super Scribblenauts is coming out this week, and yes, there is a guide for that too. Then I download the demo to Vanquish, a game coming out next week, and I had to fall in love with that one too.
So somehow, I’ve gone from having nothing of interest to play in October to three games in three weeks, and all three games have guides.
It’s time to get my serious game face on.
